A working circle for electric-utility architects.

A planned, deliberate forum for the solution and enterprise architects working inside electric utilities — built for peer critique of reference patterns, calibrated discussion of AI in EA practice, and the methodology questions that don't have clean answers yet.

Who this is for

This community is being built for one audience: practicing electric-utility architects. That includes solution and enterprise architects working inside investor-owned utilities, public power, federal power marketing administrations, cooperatives, and ISOs and RTOs — as well as the consultants who sit alongside them on the same problems. It is not a general enterprise-architecture forum, and it is not a venue for utility-AI vendors looking to position product. The narrowness is the point.

The intent is a peer space where architects can put a draft viewpoint, a contested pattern decision, or an AI-augmentation experiment in front of working colleagues and get useful pushback — the kind that does not happen on LinkedIn and rarely happens inside a single utility.

What it will become

Three uses are anticipated. First, peer critique of reference architectures: a working space to test whether a TPS reference pattern (or a reader's own pattern) holds up against the constraints of a different utility context than the one it was authored in. Second, calibrated discussion of AI in EA practice: how prompts work, where they fail, what passes a prudency review and what does not. Third, the unanswered questions: methodology gaps that no individual utility has the cycles to solve alone but that the practitioner community can chip away at together.

What it will not become is a generic technology lounge, a job board, or a vendor forum. Those exist elsewhere and serve different audiences well. This space is deliberately narrower.

Why it is not yet open

Current status
Build phase — community not yet open

Turning Point Studio is in active build phase. The reference architectures, AI prompt libraries, and training kits that would anchor meaningful peer discussion are still being completed. Opening a community before the methodology is shippable would produce thin discussion at best and miscalibrated discussion at worst — neither serves the people this space is meant to serve.

The community opens when there is enough finished material to give the conversation real ground to stand on. There is no waitlist, no signup form, and no false scarcity. Architects who want to be in conversation with the studio in the interim are welcome to reach out directly.
